Road Trip 08/29/2006

We headed to Denver from Grand Junction in a cool air of 55 F degree. Along Colorado River, the scenery shifted from magnificent stone color to delightful grass green. Not very long after, we eyes were filled with straight tall trees. The road we drove was crooked with winding courses and cling to sky-high cliffs. Signs of "No Passing" and "Double Fine Zone" could be seen every few miles. Since the senery was so strangely beautiful and I drove slow and concentrated, I hadn't found that the road was quite tricky until I thought back few hours later.

After the first 120 miles or so, houses by the roadside increased rapidly. Many of the pretty houses were built by creeks. They looked like a very nice places to live in especially for those ski lover. This area has several ski fields, reading from the road signs. We arrived the summit that I think was the highest elevation we've ever visited in this trip: 10630 feet on Exit 190 of I-70. I felt short of breath and a little headache.

Since we didn't know much about the city, we chose to drive toward downtown with the help of local map. We were impressed by the number of old gorgeous buildings and comfort appearances of people in the parks.
